The Rethinking Budgeting initiative – launched by the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) – seeks to inspire elected officials, local government managers, finance and budget professionals, and other leaders to transform and evolve the budgeting process.
The premise behind Rethinking Budgeting is about evolving the approach to public finance by updating local government budgeting practices to take advantage of new ways of thinking, new technologies, and to better meet the changing needs of communities.
Local elected officials and administrators, especially: treasurers, finance managers, and department directors.
