Program Details

At this event, public and private sector leaders will convene to identify and discuss strategies for cultivating more civil and constructive dialogues.

Bringing Civility to Public Life/The Civility Project

Celebrated journalists Nolan Finley and Stephen Henderson will talk about how to build healthy disagreement and constructive dialogue and how to build civility into various public settings.

The Power of Collaboration

This panel discussion will feature local leaders talking about the need for and power of collaboration in today's world. Panelists:

  • Mayor Bryan Barnett, City of Rochester Hills
  • Mr. Dave Bing, Former Detroit Mayor
  • Ms. Maureen Donohue Krauss, President and CEO, Detroit Regional Partnership
  • Dr. Ora Hirsch Pescovitz, President, Oakland University
  • Facilitator: Dr. David Dulio, Distinguished Professor of Political Science and Director of the Center for Civic Engagement, Oakland University
